Who We Are
First United Methodist Church holds the honor of being the “First” church established in Asheboro. We began in 1843 from humble beginnings with our founders meeting in houses to worship and break bread together. Today we are located in downtown Asheboro on the corner of North Fayetteville and Salisbury Streets. While we are proud of our history, our true joy and purpose comes in sharing the love of Jesus Christ to all around us, and striving to be His hands and feet in Asheboro.
At First UMC Asheboro, we believe in experiencing God’s authentic love; by responding through worship, connection, service and affirmation of all creation. This is more than a tagline to us, it is the mission of our church.
